Turtle Clan Culture

As a cultural program of the Goodenough Community, the Turtle Clan, affectionately known as the Young and Restless Group (Y&R), was formed in 1995 out of the recognition that people in this age group need to support each other, since this is a challenging period of life (age 25 - 40ish). This developmental period is marked by experimenting with lifestyle, career, and relationship choices. With many decisions to make, it becomes important to share stories, lessons learned, and to encourage each other.

The format calls for meeting two evenings a month and generally follows a pattern: members of the group share what is going on currently in our lives; as discussions deepen and themes emerge, we begin to give feedback to each other and encourage each other toward personal goals. As friendships have developed within this group we have found many practical ways to be helpful to each other in daily life. We’re also known for our parties, celebrations and outdoors adventures.

Leslie Norman provides leadership with a  team made up of Eric Sieverling, Pamela Jefferson, Lisa Lita Leibfried, and Bruce Perler (aka The Usual Suspects).
