Sahale Learning Center

Welcome to Sahale Learning Center, a beautiful site for workshops, retreats, family reunions, and weddings. Located just 25 minutes from Belfair, Washington, Sahale is an easy drive from Seattle, Tacoma, and the Olympic Peninsula. Embraced by 65 acres of forest and valley, the land holds within its valley a sacred grove of cedars more than 300 years old. The cathedral-like stillness here within this ring of cedars harmonizes with the flow of the Tahuya River, just yards away.

Sahale has many different housing options to meet your needs whether it is a private retreat for one, organizational events, family reunions and more. We have hosted events where more than 150 people were comfortably cared for. We invite you to take a tour of our buildings and surrounding natural beauty. Below is a  video of the spring blooms from April of this year.  Thanks for visiting!

We can help you

  • Envision your dream for the event

  • Plan and manage your budget with many money-saving ideas

  • Design and produce your invitations

  • Cater a menu of your choice

  • Coordinate with your vendors

  • Photograph and video record the event

Create your own event, or Join One of Ours
Sahale is a great place for family and youth events. You can camp, swim, hike, and cook by campfire, or stay in home-like facilities with full kitchen.  Let us  help you plan your own event, and consider joining one or more annual events we offer to the public, including the Sahale  Summer Camp  and Human Relations Laboratory.

Nature at Sahale
We share this land with deer, black bears, mountain lions, beavers, and almost 100 species of birds. Coyotes sing up and down the valley at night. The river is home to a strong run of Chum salmon that can be seen spawning in the fall. There are hiking trails and a road that rarely sees a dozen cars in a day.

Sleeping Accommodations

Sahale offers sleeping accommodations for up to 45, with additional seasonal camping available with hot showers.

Food
Our professional staff are committed to accommodating your needs. We offer flexible meal times and enjoy helping groups design their own menus. During harvest season we provide fresh produce from our abundant garden and orchard. Groups may choose to cook their own meals in our well equipped kitchen, which accommodate up to 75 people.
