Winter Solstice Bus Trip to Leavenworth

with friends
for this fun filled journey embracing the longest night
of the year. Hosted by the Family Enrichment Network,
Irene Perler, will be our guide for the experience. Irene is a veteran
of this event, and welcomes your interest and questions.
Who is Invited?
All are welcome! Children, teens, adults and seniors will
have a variety of activities to choose from and enjoy, snow play,
shopping, a traditional sleigh ride and ranch dinner, and quiet moments
to celebrate the solstice. Share this treat with family and friends and
make new ones along the way.
What To Bring
Be sure to wear warm layers of clothes and bring lunch,
snacks, and libations for enjoying and sharing. We encourage you to
bring sleds and skis, inner tubes and other snow play equipment.
Schedule for the
Day
- We board a heated, chartered bus at 8:30 am, at the
Eastgate Park and Ride, and travel through snow-laden forests,
craggy mountains, icicled streams, over Snoqualmie and
Blewett Pass
to the beautiful Bavarian Christmas village —
Leavenworth;
- We stop for sledding and snow play or walks in the woods at
Bluett Pass(check
out travel conditions
here).
- We stop in Leavenworth for the
lights, shopping, enjoying a warm fire with local musicians playing
in the square and more!
- At the
Eagle Creek Ranch, just
outside of Leavenworth, we take a horse-drawn sleigh
ride, returning to their lodge for
dinner, before re-boarding the bus;
- We stop at Blewett Pass and have a
brief candle light solstice ritual and join in hope for peace and
light;
- Lastly, we re-board our bus for the
journey home; arriving back at the Eastgate Park and Ride lot around
11:00 pm.
Cost
The cost for this event includes transportation, snow play, sleigh ride,
and a hearty dinner:
$80 – Adults (18 and older)
$70 - Children (13 to 18)
$50 - Children (3 to 12)
Children under 2 free
Register Today:
A $40 registration fee is required to hold your seat must
accompany your registration. The deposit is not refundable after
December 5. Please make checks payable to "The Goodenough
Community", and mail the completed
